Seventy-five hundred FitOne participants raised $75,000 this year — but more impactful than a numerical theme, the proceeds awarded to St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital will help fund healthy activities and programs for Idaho kids. This year’s race was back in person after being held virtually for the last two years.

The September run/walk is Idaho’s largest fitness event, featuring a 5K, 10K and half marathon. Proceeds from this year’s St. Luke’s FitOne combined with funds raised in the event’s past nine years exceeds more than $900,000 — money that helps to improve the health of Idaho’s children.

“Seeing and feeling the energy that participants brought with FitOne being back in person and the proceeds raised proves that we have an incredible community of people who are champions for kids,” said St. Luke’s Children’s Medical Director, Dr. Kenny Bramwell. He accepted the donation on behalf of St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital.

The money raised by St. Luke’s FitOne will support community and school programs for kids that are safe, structured and sustainable. Recent past projects have included running and walking tracks at area schools.

Additional statistics from this year’s race include: 7,500 participants (5,000 returning; 2,500 new) ages 0 to 94 years old from 27 different states. The 5K race length drew the largest number of participants with 4,091 people.
