Cold Overnight Oatmeal

It’s true what they say; breakfast really is the most important meal of the day! Eating breakfast within two hours of waking helps support blood glucose control, energy levels, mood, metabolism, and can prevent overeating later in the day.

Tired of the same old boring oatmeal? Try this fun twist on your morning routine. Cold Overnight Oatmeal is a filling, high-protein, high-fiber option that is easy to make ahead of time and grab as you’re running out the door!

Cold Overnight Oatmeal

Serves 1

· ¼ cup old fashioned rolled oats
· 1/3 cup skim milk
· ¼ cup Greek yogurt
· 1 ½ t chia seeds [What are chia seeds?
· ½ t cinnamon
· 1 t honey
· ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
· ½ cup fresh berries (optional)

· In a half pint jar, add oats, milk, yogurt, chia seeds, cinnamon and honey.
· Put lid on jar and shake until well combined.
· Remove lid, add applesauce and stir until mixed throughout.
· Return lid to jar and refrigerate overnight.
· Enjoy in the morning with fresh berries

210 calories, 4g fat, 48g carbohydrates, 8g fiber, 11g protein
